A NEW GENERATION OF PASSIONATE WINEGROWERS
Pierre and Charlotte Fihman-Arcelain, a new generation of passionate winemakers, are delighted to continue the family estate. After several years training at some of Burgundy's finest estates, Pierre and his wife Charlotte took over the estate of his grandparents, Michel and his wife Marie Madeleine Arcelain. From vine to wine, their ambition is to showcase the best terroirs of Burgundy!
EXPERTISE, KNOWLEDGE AND A LOCAL REGION
In 1889, Jules Arcelain took over the family estate and restructured the vineyards during the phylloxera crisis. He replanted the renowned grafted grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. He then passed on his expertise, knowledge, and terroir to his son, who in turn passed it on to his children. The vineyard layout has thus evolved over time and through generations. Later, Michel and Marie-Madeleine Arcelain took over the estate and ran it for many years. Since 2020, the estate has skipped a generation and is now managed by the grandson, Pierre, and his wife, Charlotte Fihman Arcelain.
A SUSTAINABLE APPROACH TO VINE CULTIVATION
Domaine Michel Arcelain is committed to sustainable viticulture, from vine to wine. To best preserve our terroir and the authenticity of our wines, we pay particular attention to soil management, which involves plowing during the growing season, and we do not use herbicides or insecticides.
To ensure optimal quality, we harvest our grapes by hand and sort them to keep only the best bunches. Our philosophy combines traditional and modern methods to produce the most natural wine possible.
